5/8 Lawn mower races (ended)
« on: May 08, 2010, 11:08 AM »

Prize is the color of mower you choose!  Yay!

IMPORTANT UPDATE:  Vintages room does not require skates.  CACTUS'S ROOM DOES!  SHE WILL BOOT IF YOU DON'T HAVE SKATES ON!  What the ___ is up with that?  I've seen NO notice anywhere saying you had to have skates on to use Cactus's room.  I checked the event calendar and her room description.  Nowhere does it say that!  So time is wasted because she has to boot 3-4 people per race and keep pulling others in because people don't know they have to have skates for her room.  Nice.

Adding a pic of the orange mower:

FYI:  couldn't get the mower to do anything.  So far, it looks like it's just decoration.  Unless I'm missing something...

It's my opinion at this point that host hunts are a thing of the past.  Could be wrong.  Doubt it, though.  Sadly, people with a bazillion clones will still have the upper hand, since the more they have in the queue, the greater their odds are of being selected (even in a random selection scheme).  Also...as I mentioned in an older thread...I'm wondering if people with slower computers stand a chance in this kind of race at all (unless they are racing against people who are poor racers)?

UPDATE:  race was supposed to end at 3pm EST.  It's still going on.

To answer you for me personally....I don't think I stand a chance to win in any of these type of races - because with movement of the room, movement of 4 people racing, I freeze up during those races.  :td:

I much more prefer Host Porter Games as we can stand a better chance of winning instead of playing a "freeze race game"

Agreed Fun.  As I've personally said in a previous post as well, I would rather fail at a Host Hunt, than fail at this type of Host Event.  blah.  No thanks.  Don't like this event at all.  The lag is terrible, grids are still not right.  Honestly, I don't even know how the Staff can see if a player wins, if they are the first or last mower?  They are not in their line of vision from what I can see.

Yup, I will trade for them.  :)   Don't stand a chance.  My computer is not that fast, plus all the other issues with a race game.  And the Queues are FILLED with clones.  Well, players complained with Host Hunts, and now we're stuck with race games.  I'd rather go up against a clone in a Host Hunt, they can't watch that many screens, since VFK changed their cheat.  So easy for clones to get in and win these race games now.  They just wait in line until it's their turn.

Bring back Teleporter Events or Host Hunts please VFK.  Had it with race events for a rare prize.    :hmm:      Rant done.  hehe

Congrats to all those winning though!   ;)    :clap1:

Sigh. I was really hoping the mowers would be a quest prize or they might do a Host porter game. The amount of time needed to do  all of these things on VFK is really a bummer. It certainly make me think twice about my desire to keep really actively playing. Well, what can you do?

Congrats to everyone who won a mower today! Maybe we will try here in the church atrium at the second races.

I've been thinking alot about this as well, Wendy.  Seems like VFK keeps piling stuff on us...without giving us time to do anything with what we get.  I have so much stuff in storage that I could build with...then another event or something comes along.  A quest.  Or Epic.  Or Pulse magic.  Mazes.  Now new salon furnish...and I still haven't started my garden room for the contest (which I stand no chance of winning anyways lol).  Awful week or so healthwise for me, so have been trying to stay off game and rest (Hero has used Flame a few times to get stuff for me).  Tuesday is Remicade for me.  So a few more days down and out for me.  Sheesh.  I got NO time.  It is getting tiring, crazed and a bit old in the tooth by now...

ETA:  ROFL and now a new scavenger hunt.  Sigh....

(hugs)

(just in fun) Repeat after me: "I don't have to have everything. It's okay if I don't have multiples of some things. It's okay to play the game how I enjoy it rather than get stuff I am not using". You can do it, take charge of your game playing.

Wise advice, Golden.  Every time I think I'm in charge...I find that I'm not.  But I'm never completely out of control (although I've seen others spiral downward).  Just kinda on the edge of it.  ROFL

About a month ago, I started pulling back on how much I've been collecting in game.  It's helped out alot, and given me time to at least think.  Baby steps, I guess.   Thanks :)

(hugs)

Hugs everyone!  :bighug:  Golden, you are too cute. :bighug: I think I was seriously just spent when I hopped on today and saw so much new happening. We had to take our little chihuahua to the vet yesterday because she wasn't acting right and started having these little "ticks". I think we were all totally stressed out after losing Max so quickly. She is actually doing fine (the chihuahua) it was just a little slipped disc. No wore twitching and she is already back to normal. Woot!  :dance2:

The second thing was I tried forever yesterday to get one of those silly Lotus lamps and the puzzle wheel was not my friend. I usually do not do the crossword puzzles anymore. One of the things I decided to sort of "cut out" of my gaming routine. But I plan to use a Lotus lamp in my garden room. Then, we had this incredible church service tonight about God's lavish love for us. Our son was even moved to tears. It was amazing. During the second Saturday service, our son goes to his Student Movement for Jr. High ages and King, myself, and our daughter have a soda/coffee and sit in the atrium. We usually bring our laptops and so tonight I thought I'd check in on VFK since I hadn't been on all day.

I was just completely overwhelmed. After taking a few steps back, I was able to put it all in perspective. But, like Flame said, so much new happening in such a short time. I haven't physically started on my garden yet either. Heck, My inventory is so full I can't even see all of my inventory!  :notme: So, tonight I'm going to store some things and focus on what I love about the game - family, friends, and fun!

Hugs everybody!  :bighug:

Aww.  Glad pup is doing well and nothing serious :)

Sounds like you guys had an awesome service!  Very cool!

The puzzles have been........................................................................... .........very unkind.  ROFL.  We've been eeking out such a meager amount of Lotus lamps that it's pathetic.  Again:  figures...the lamps we love the best are the hardest for us to get.  LOL.  So, you're not alone.  Fierce competition on the night puzzle, too.  I haven't been able to get above 4th very often...let alone first :(  Blech.

I have an odd outlook towards the game.  Alot of it I consider to be mountains I need to climb.  Or goals I need to conquer.  I like to think that I will not let the game beat me.  That I am up to any challenge it may throw my way.  For example:  "Four events in one day?  OMG!"  Initial panic...then "I can do this!"  :weight:

Maybe it's a guy thing.  LOL.  Make no mistake, though...like everyone else, sometimes even Flame needs a break  :sur:
